Song List #1

I’ve sung 55 songs in 14 days.

It’s a pretty eclectic groups of songs and singers, spanning over decades. I do tend to favor songs that are dramatic, or with which I can belt, or which have some variety in dynamics (soft to loud and soft again, etc.) or pitch (low to high, etc.). I prefer slower songs, and find a faster tempo more challenging, so I’m trying to do more of those. It usually comes off okay, but I’m left catching my breath. Once in a while I like to do a torch song and really milk it, for a big finish. But then I like to mix it up.

I have a huge list left of songs I might do in the coming week (Days 16 -22). Some are solid, some okay, and some I’ve never sung before. And of course, I’m always on the lookout for good duets. People are always giving me more suggestions too. I already know a ton of songs. Then someone will sing something, or mention a title, and I’ll think, yeah, I should do that one. If I feel the need to, I’ll practice, or learn new songs.

I really love it. I love to sing, and I strive to do well. Enjoy the list!
